Duffy - Distant Dreamer
also see version here http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ez7h8orQAZY no video for this one yet , great song by the Duftress with a little help from her songwriting partner ,the utterly brilliant guitarist and producer Bernard Butler . I think this is the best so far and really reminds me of Mc Almont and Butler together especially the last Bring It Back album , very Spector / Roy Wood type of production on some of that as well. This could easily have been a song written for McAlmont , see my version where Ive altered the voice track a little about that , I think it would be great if McAlmont did a version and Duffy did a version of an earlier McAlmont and Butler track ... maybe falling or you do / or even yes. 🙂
Duffy - Stay With Me Baby
serbianx presents ... "Stay with Me" (often credited as "Stay with Me Baby") is a song co-written by Jerry Ragovoy and George David Weiss. It was first recorded in 1966 by Lorraine Ellison. "Stay With Me" has been covered by numerous musicians. These include The Walker Brothers, David Essex, Ruby Turner, Rebecca Wheatley, Janis Joplin, Genya Ravan, Terry Reid, Sharon Tandy and Les Fleur de Lys, Natalie Cole, Jimmy Witherspoon, Kiki Dee, Shirley Brown, Whitesnake, Bette Midler, and more recently Duffy. Duffy's version was the only newly recorded song on the soundtrack of the 2009 UK comedy film The Boat That Rocked, even though it was the original version that appeared in the film.
Duffy - I'm Scared (with lyrics)
I think this is her best song. I love it! My favourite at the moment..! I know there's a couple of mistakes in the lyrics.. Sorry about that! I was kinda in a rush when I made this video so I didn't double check If I had the right lyrics or not.. Sorry!
Duffy - Hanging On Too Long
Duffy - Hanging On Too Long This is the 6th track in her album Rockferry. This video isn't even aout the video. It's all about the song. Thus, I have this crappy montage of Duffy's photos. Anyway, This is my favorite Duffy song ever. 🙂 Enjoy. It was just my mistake Thinking you cared It was just my mistake Thinking you'd be there That you'd be by my side And that you wouldn't lie My mistake It was just my false hope Thinking we'd last, yeah It was just my false hope Forgot all your pests All those girls you denied Smashed up hearts hung out to dry I know it's wrong Hanging on too long I know it's wrong Hanging on too long But I beat 'em all Hanging on too long I was a fool for you Right from the start, yeah I was a fool for you Hoping for a spark For some kind of sign That you would be mine I know it's wrong, I do Hanging on too long And I know it's wrong Hanging on too long My heart was clutching To one fair right My head was pumping It could put up a fight I know it's wrong Hanging on too long And I know it's wrong Hanging on too long And I need to move on I'm hanging on too long I know it's wrong Hanging on too long And I know it's wrong Hanging on too long
Duffy - Syrup & Honey (2009)
Rockferry, the Welsh singer's lovingly constructed debut album, has already succeeded beyond expectations, and although Duffy may not quite be the ingénue portrayed by a clever press campaign (she nearly won a local television talent show a few years back while a single credited to Aimee Duffy is still available on iTunes) she is surely the most appealing of the current flood of young soul sirens. The astonishing title track, co-written by Bernard Butler, sounded like a lost transmission that had taken decades to get through as soon as it hit radio last year. But the gently rolling soul ballad "Stepping Stone", that strapping, inescapable monster hit "Mercy", the ice cool "Serious" (the one time she really does channel the spirit of Dusty Springfield) and the wistful, elegant "Warwick Avenue" are similarly effective. Suggestions by some that Rockferry is little more than sixties pastiche are churlish. Butler's previous work with David McAlmont (featured here as a backing singer) showed his skill at writing and arranging the dramatic, while her other collaborators such as Steve Booker and the team of Jimmy Hogarth and Eg White are hardly lightweights. But despite some wonderful orchestral settings, it's Duffy's terrific voice that makes this so satisfying, even overpowering Butler's exquisitely underplayed guitar work on "Rockferry" itself. Growling the blues on "Syrup & Honey" or belting it out over his lovingly arranged wall of sound on "Distant Dreamer", she sets the tone throughout, several of her songs dealing with escape, both physical and romantic. The sound of someone singing herself to stardom, Rockferry is at times genuinely amazing. 'Rockferry' is the debut album from Welsh singer Duffy. Written and produced in collaboration with Bernard Butler, the album is a stunning showcase for her voice, which brings to mind such great singers as Dusty Springfield, Lulu and Sandie Shaw. Includes the singles 'Rockferry' and 'Mercy'. http://www.youtube.com/shilautmusic http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=B28E9E6ED4557292

Please Stay - Duffy (w/lyrics)
Song: Please Stay Singer: Duffy Album: Rockferry LYRICS: If I got on my knees And I pleaded with you Not to go But to stay in my arms Would you walk out the door Like you did once before This time be different Please stay don't go If I call out your name Like a prayer Would you leave me alone With my tears Knowing I need you so Would you still Turn and go This time be different Please stay Don't go please stay I loved you before I even knew your name I wanted to give you My heart But when you came back After leaving me one time Oh, I knew, yes I knew That the heartaches Would start If I called out Your name like a song That was written for you You alone Would you still Hurt my pride Oh, hey, how I cried This time be different Please stay Oh, this time Be different in some way Don't go please stay You know I'll always love you Darling Please stay
Fool For You - Duffy (w/lyrics)
Song: Fool For You Singer: Duffy Album: Rockferry LYRICS: Is this something on your mind? What do you try to hide? I can't seem, no I can't seem to get a hold on you Sitting on the bench You will think we are just friends Cuz there's no lies, there's no lies that's with us two What more can I give? What more can I say? Cuz I can't make you love me anyway Oh maybe I'm not the one Oh maybe I'm too young But for reasons why I can't deny I'm a fool for you Fool for you Who are you talking to? Is she in love with you? I can see and I can feel you're thinking of her again Lying by your side You pretend to be tired Oh where is the sense? Where is the sense in living with pretence? What more can I give? What more can I say? I can't make you love me anyway Oh maybe I'm not the one Oh maybe I'm too young But for reasons why I can't deny I'm a fool for you Fool for you Fool for you Oh maybe I'm not the one Oh maybe I'm too young But for reasons why I can't deny I'm a fool for you Fool for you I'm a fool for you I'm a fool for you
